SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS HEALTH VENTURES, INC.
BREAKS GROUND FOR ORTHOPEDIC AND NEUROSCIENCES CENTER
(Belleville, Illinois – May 11, 2010) Southwest Illinois Health Ventures, Inc. (SIHVI), a subsidiary of Memorial Group, Inc. broke ground today for an orthopedic and neurosciences center on the campus of Memorial Hospital in Belleville. SIHVI received Certificate of Need approval earlier this year from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to construct the third medical office building.
The 85,000-square-foot building would be located adjacent to Frank Scott Parkway, just northwest of Medical Office Center – Two. The two existing office buildings next to Memorial Hospital are fully leased creating the need for additional physician office space, according to Mark Turner, Memorial’s president and CEO.
“We’re simply out of space in our two medical buildings; we have physicians asking about expanding or locating their practices here,” Turner added. “Plans are to create an orthopedic/neurosciences center as well as locate specialties such as pain management, sports medicine, physical, occupational and hand therapy in addition to an open MRI in the new building.”
It is estimated that the $24 million project will be completed at the end of 2011. Holland Construction Services will serve as construction managers.
Southwest Illinois Health Ventures, Inc. is an Illinois Business Corporation which is a subsidiary of Memorial Group, Inc. It owns and operates Medical Office Centers – One and Two, as well as is a partner in the YMCA in O’Fallon and The Cancer Treatment Center in Swansea.
