Memorial offers a simple, painless test to help you evaluate your risk of coronary disease. Heart Score uses computerized tomography (CT) scans, without injections, treadmills, or fasting, to determine the calcium content in your coronary arteries. Cardiac calcium scoring is recommended for men ages 40-70 and women ages 50-70, with one of the following risk factors:
- Family history of heart disease
- High cholesterol
- Sedentary lifestyle
- High blood pressure
- History of smoking
- Diabetes
- Obesity
This screening test, interpreted by board-certified radiologists from Advanced Diagnostic Imaging, Ltd., is available using the new state-of-the-art CT scanner at Memorial Healthcare Center, 800 East Highway 50, O’Fallon.
