(Belleville Illinois) Memorial Hospital was honored by the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce as one of the 2008 recipients of the Business Excellence Award in the Large Business Category.

Celebrating its 50th Anniversary during 2008, Memorial is the Metro-East’s largest
provider of emergency and surgical services as well as ranks sixth among largest employers
in the region providing full- and part-time employment to 2,200 people.

Memorial Hospital President and CEO Mark Turner, in accepting the award from
Chamber Past President Jay Tebbe, acknowledged the continued support of its employees,
medical staff, Auxiliary volunteers, area churches and business leaders over the past 50 years.

“Memorial is a true community hospital – a hospital by the community, of the community
and for the community,” Turner said.
