NURSING EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNERS
HONORED AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

(Belleville, Illinois) Memorial Hospital recently honored nine of its nursing professionals for exemplifying the goals of nursing service at Memorial with its second annual Nursing Excellence Awards.  The winners were nominated by their peers, selected by a committee and confirmed for the award by nursing managers and directors.

Winners were selected based on the following criteria – promoting and advancing the nursing profession, integrity, respectability and ethical standards, pursuit of opportunities benefiting patients, families and colleagues, solid communication skills, ability to act as a mentor to colleagues and advocates for patients and families, and making a positive difference in the workplace.

The nursing professionals honored offer a vast range of experience – from seven years to over 29 years as well as represent the array of nursing opportunities available at Memorial.

“Nursing Excellence is the key to outstanding patient care and quality outcomes,” said Nancy Weston, RN, vice president of nursing service at Memorial.  “As we continue to focus on improving clinical outcomes and patient care the nurse honored this year will be in the forefront assisting nursing and the organization in achieving our mission of exceptional healthcare and compassionate service.”
