Memorial Hospital Receives
ACR Accreditation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
(BELLEVILLE, IL) Memorial Hospital has been awarded three-year accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
“A high standard of patient care has always been our goal. Accreditation by the ACR supports and recognizes this goal.” said Pat Murphy, director of CT/MRI services at Memorial.
The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of staff and the adequacy of facility equipment.
In addition to being accredited in MRI, Memorial is ACR accredited in mammography, breast ultrasound, ultrasound breast biopsies and diagnostic ultrasound.
Memorial Hospital offers state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging services including CT scanning, MRI, diagnostic x-ray, breast health center, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine, including SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography). For more information on Memorial’s diagnostic imaging services, contact Pam Holbrook, director of diagnostic services at 618-257-5017.
