Memorial Hospital Joins SIU School of Medicine’s
Memory and Aging Network

(BELLEVILLE, IL) Memorial Hospital has joined the Memory and Aging Network at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine’s Center for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders as a designated Alzheimer’s Disease Primary Provider Site. This state-wide program includes a network of 34 provider sites that collect data on the frequency, type and progression of dementias in Illinois. This program represents Memorial’s commitment to being a leader in metro-east care in the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease and other memory-related disorders.
At Memorial, the Memory Clinic provides patients and their families early assessment of Alzheimer’s and other memory-related disorders. Patients enter the program through self-referral or through their physician. The initial assessment is free, followed by other relevant imaging and testing. After the evaluation is completed and the patient is stable, a report is sent to the patient’s primary care physician to guarantee proper continuity of care.
For more information on Memorial’s Memory Clinic, please contact Anita Sirevaag, Senior Care Program Director at 618-257-5900.
