Give Yourself a Break:
Join American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking Program
(Belleville, Illinois) The Cancer Treatment Center is teaming up with the American Lung Association to help smokers “Quit for Life” through the three-session Freedom from Smoking Self Help Plus Program. “Quit for Life” begins Wednesday, January 6 at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cancer Treatment Center, 4000 North Illinois, Swansea.
Classes are open to the public and will be taught by a respiratory therapist from Memorial Hospital. The program is designed to provide smokers with the tools they need to quit smoking in a relaxed atmosphere. The first class will focus on why participants have chosen to smoke and motivate them to quit; the second class will be “quit day” where coping skills and reward systems are discussed; and the third session provides tools that can ensure the goal to “Quit for Life” becomes reality, including developing an exercise program and healthy eating habits.
Reservations recommended. For more information on the program, call the Cancer Treatment Center at 618-236-1000.
