Peggy Baker Joins
Memorial Hospital’s Blood Bank as Supervisor
(Belleville, Il) Peggy Baker has been named the new blood bank supervisor at Memorial Hospital. Peggy began her role on August 25.
“I am very excited about the new opportunities at Memorial,” said Peggy. “Everyone has been very welcoming and patient.”
Peggy has held various positions in the blood banking industry - most recently with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. She brings nearly 30 years of experience to her new role at Memorial and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the blood bank, keeping up with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements and improving technology. She will serve as a resource to hospital staff regarding transfusion medicine questions. Peggy lives in St. Charles, MO.
Memorial’s blood bank tests specimens for blood types, screens for antibodies and cross-matches with donors to determine the most compatible and safest unit for the patient. For more information on Memorial’s blood bank, contact Kathy Stanley, laboratory director at 618-257-5115.
