Healthy Direction Mobile Mammography
Our wellness vehicle is equipped with Hologic digital mammography equipment. We are accredited by American College of Radiology and certified by Mammography Quality Standards Act. Board certified radiologists from Advanced Diagnostic Imaging read all of our mammography exams. We are staffed with mammography technologists, each registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
Digital screening mammograms are performed on Healthy Direction for patients with no current breast problems and no breast implants. Diagnostic mammograms, including patients with implants, are only performed at our main hospital facility, where a radiologist is available to view your films at the time of your visit so that any additional imaging or tests can be performed.
Healthy Direction adds another dimension to Memorial Hospital’s commitment to providing exceptional healthcare and compassionate service by extending an array of services to more residents throughout the communities we serve. Memorial Hospital offers a number of health screenings.
Healthy Direction was purchased with funds provided by Memorial Foundation, Inc. and Memorial Hospital’s Auxiliary.
To schedule Healthy Direction, contact Memorial's Outreach Coordinator at (618) 257-5765.
A minimum number of patients is required for us to visit your facility.
Your organization is responsible for scheduling appointments with the schedule sign-up sheet provided by Memorial Hospital. Please schedule patients consecutively beginning with the first appointment. Please be sure to fill in all the information requested on the schedule sign up sheet. We request that you try to fill the entire schedule. We will provide with you with a Patient Questionnaire and Pre-Exam Instruction Guide to give each patient upon signing up.
Parking instructions for Healthy Direction
The Healthy Direction wellness vehicle is 40 feet long, more than 12 feet wide, and will require up to seven parking spaces in a level area. It is a self-contained unit and does not require any electrical or sewage hook up.
The generator will be running all day, and this is rather noisy. Please remember this when choosing an area for the wellness vehicle to park as this may disturb classrooms, meetings, etc. The vehicle requires a level surface on which to park for stabilization. Asphalt or concrete is needed. The vehicle cannot park on gravel or grass. If the vehicle cannot be stabilized, we will be unable to accept patients due to safety requirements. Healthy Direction will arrive one hour before the event or first appointment to accommodate last-minute parking changes and set up.
Women who meet the requirements listed on the Patient Instruction Sheet will be billed in accordance with their insurance. Patients are encouraged to contact their provider with questions regarding eligibility and insurance payment. Each patient will receive a separate invoice from Advanced Diagnostic Imaging (ADI) for the interpretation of their exam.
Women who meet all the requirements but are uninsured may choose to contact the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP). The will determine your eligibility to receive financial assistance for your mammogram. IBCCP’s phone number is (877) 678-4400.
